A Brief Trip Through China
Before heading to Mongolia I diverted to Western China, Gansu Province, to visit Jenni and the work she was doing in Zhang Ye. It was a fascinating trip - probably one of the best times of my life! I took a train from Beijing to Zhang Ye, riding for approximately 36 hours. It was a great chance to see lots of different parts of China, and pray for all the people I saw. Gansu, Inc. is a group that helps bring eyesight to the poor in rural China, primarily in the Gansu province. Jenni was here for one month, from August 25 to September 25, volunteering with the other 5 team members. The others included a doctor, a "handy-man" and his wife, the nurse, a Chinese-American translator, and a Chinese opthamologist.

We all visited the Great wall when we returned to Beijing together. Amy, Elain, Terje, Myself, and Jenni. The only one missing is the doctor who took the picture.

We walked from the hospital to the hotel each afternoon after the surgeries were finished. Jenni is still in scrubs!
